Biography
I work across data engineering, analysis, AI and full stack development. Most of the projects I've been part of needed more than one of these at once, so I've learned to follow a problem from the raw data all the way to the people who use the result.
One habit runs through all of it. When a number doesn't add up, I go back to the source until I understand why. At Jeonbuk Bank, that meant getting three teams to agree on a single definition for each metric. At LG Uplus, it meant building a tool that traces every column through more than 300 stored procedures.
I spent five years building clinical research systems, where every change to the data has to be explainable, and I still work that way. I hold a PhD in Management Information Systems, work in Korean and English, and live in Seoul as a permanent resident (F-5).

Experience
Data Engineer (Freelance) @LG Uplus
Sep 2026 - Present | Seoul- Moving a DB2 data warehouse to BigQuery, covering L0 to L2 data, stored procedures and DataStage jobs.
- Built a column-level lineage tool in SQL and JavaScript UDFs. Tracing 300+ stored procedures now takes one or two days instead of about a month.
- Automated procedure conversion with an AI agent. Every converted procedure is checked by running the same input on both platforms.
Data Analyst @Jeonbuk Bank (Bravo Korea)
May 2025 - Jul 2026 | Seoul- Worked on Bravo Korea, the bank's financial platform for foreign customers.
- Three teams were reporting different numbers for the same metrics. I compared their logic, agreed on one definition per metric and wrote it into a shared data dictionary.
- Rebuilt the funnel and channel analysis, reaching a CTR of 8.5% and a CVR of 3.5% for financial members.
- Replaced a monthly report that took about two days by hand with automated SQL, Python and Tableau monitoring.
Senior Researcher, Full Stack and Data @Symyoo Co., Ltd.
Jan 2020 - May 2025 | Seoul- Built a clinical trial management system and other internal tools with Python, React and AWS, from requirements to production.
- Designed a five-stage pipeline for more than 200,000 images, with deep learning and LLM-based quality checks.
- Built execution history tracking to FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and automated over 1,000 manual CRF captures with Python and Selenium.

Mar 2017 - Jan 2020 | Busan- Ran industry-academia projects in e-government and applied AI, from data collection to CNN, DFFNN and Bayesian models in Python and R.
- Published five papers and received an excellent paper award at the 2019 autumn conference of 한국전산회계학회.
